MoU with Dr. Hiremath Global Enterprises, Dubai & Bengaluru

IIT Palakkad signed a Memorandum of Understanding with  Dr Hiremath Global Enterprises, Dubai & Bengaluru, on 26th March 2025. The MoU establishes Collaboration on academic and research activities including joint project proposals to funding agencies, Product development based on collaborative research outcomes etc. The MoU was signed by Prof. Santhakumar Mohan (Dean- Industry Collaboration and Sponsored Research, IIT Palakkad) and Dr. Vishwannath Hiremath, Director of Dr Hiremath Global Enterprises, Dubai & Bengaluru. 

MoU with National Research Developement Corporation(NRDC)

IIT Palakkad signed a Memorandum of Understanding with National Research Development Corporation(NRDC), New Delhi, on 23rd January 2025. The MoU establishes collaboration in development of technologies and their successful transfer to industry for commercialisation and socio-economic benefits. The MoU was signed by Prof. Santhakumar Mohan (Dean- Industry Collaboration and Sponsored Research, IIT Palakkad) and Commodore Amit Rastogi (Retd), Chairman & Managing Director,NRDC. 

MoU with Technopark Technology Business Incubator(T-TBI)

IIT Palakkad signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Technopark Technology Business Incubator(T-TBI), Thiruvananthapuram, on 11th February 2025. The MoU establishes a partnership to establish and maintain a collaborative relationship between KSUM and IITPKD aimed at advancing the R&D startup ecosystem in the state. The MoU was signed by Prof. Santhakumar Mohan (Dean- Industry Collaboration and Sponsored Research, IIT Palakkad) and Mr.Anoop Ambika,CEO,Kerala Startup Mission(KSUM). 

Memorandum of Understanding with Vass Softwares & Solutions Pvt. Ltd.

IIT Palakkad signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Vass Softwares & Solutions Pvt. Ltd. Chennai, on 27th March 2025. The MoU establishes Collaboration on joint project proposals to funding agencies, sharing of databases for research and product validation, product development based on collaborative research outcomes, student internships and faculty mentorship, collaborative research publications and patents. The MoU was signed by Prof. Santhakumar Mohan (Dean- Industry Collaboration and Sponsored Research, IIT Palakkad) and Shri. P.T Venkatesh, Director, Vass Softwares & Solutions Pvt. Ltd.

Memorandum of Understanding with APChemi, Mumbai

IIT Palakkad signed a Memorandum of Understanding with APChemi, Mumbai on 15th November 2024. Both parties are united by common interest and objectives, and they shall create channel of communication and collaboration that will encourage and advance relevant operations. The MoU establishes a partnership for collaborative proposal on biomass valorization,Hydrogen production and Pyrolysis technology. The MoU was signed by Prof. Santhakumar Mohan (Dean- Industry Collaboration and Sponsored Research, IIT Palakkad) and Mr.Suhas Dixit,Director, APChemi,Mumbai. 

Memorandum of Understanding with NAMTECH

IIT Palakkad signed a Memorandum of Understanding with New Age Makers Institute of Technology (NAMTECH), Gujarat. The collaboration between IIT Palakkad and NAMTECH aimed to leverage their complementary strengths to drive advancements in industrial technology and sustainability. As part of this partnership, both institutions envisioned joint initiatives such as internships, action research projects, faculty capacity development, consultancy assignments, guest lectures, and outreach activities. The MoU was signed by Prof. Santhakumar Mohan (Dean- Industry Collaboration and Sponsored Research, IIT Palakkad), and Mr. Arunkumar Pillai, Director-General, NAMTECH.

Non-Disclosure Agreement with Triveni Engineering & Industries Limited

IIT Palakkad has signed a Non-Disclosure Agreement (NDA) with Triveni Engineering & Industries Limited to secure confidential informations related to design and development of operating mechanism for controllable pitch propeller. The NDA was signed by Prof. Santhakumar Mohan, Dean- Industry Collaboration and Sponsored Research, IIT Palakkad and Shri. Rajiv Rajpal,CEO,Power Transmission Business, Triveni Engineering & Industries Limited. 

Technology License and Monetization Agreement with IIT Madras & M/s. Archana Blocks, Rajapalayam

A Technology Licensing Agreement with M/s. Archana Blocks, Rajapalayam for the technology “Carbonatable Fine-Grained Cementitious Matrix with Alternative Binders for Glass Reinforced Composites” has been signed jointly with IIT Palakkad and IIT Madras. The technology was developed by Prof. Ravindra Gettu (IIT Madras) and Dr. Sunitha K Nayar (IIT Palakkad) and their team as part of a DST SERB project. The invention focuses on developing a fine-grained concrete matrix tailored for durable glass-reinforced concrete (GRC) applications. This novel formulation integrates supplementary cementitious materials (SCMs) to reduce carbon emissions, promote high carbonation potential, and achieve low-pH binders for enhanced durability. Designed for both structural and non-structural uses, such as facades, partition walls, and 3D-printed elements, it offers a cost-effective and sustainable solution. The use of glass fibers as reinforcement ensures improved tensile strength, crack resistance, and long-term performance.

MoU with Sahrdaya College of Engineering & Technology

IIT Palakkad signed an Memorandum of Understanding with Sahrdaya College of Engineering & Technology, Kodakara, Thrissur on 10 January 2025 to foster collaboration in academics, research, and industry engagement. The MoU establishes a partnership for collaborative efforts in Research & Development in Electrical & Electronics Engineering, aimed at developing new products, components, technologies, and methodologies. It also focuses on faculty development, hands-on training, providing internship opportunities for students, and fostering bilateral collaboration in academics and research. The MoU was signed by Prof. Santhakumar Mohan (Dean- Industry Collaboration and Sponsored Research, IIT Palakkad), Prof. Anand T.N.C. (Dean Academics) and Rev. Fr. Dr. Anto Chungath (Executive Director, SCET).

Project Agreement with Divyasampark iHub Roorkee

IIT Palakkad signed a Project Agreement with Divyasampark iHub Roorkee on 29 November 2024 in connection to a project entitled “Design and development of implantable medical device with capsule endoscopic MIMO antennas utilizing RF energy” in furtherance of its implementation and realizing the part of objectives of National Mission on interdisciplinary Cyber-Physical Systems (NM-ICPS). The project is secured by Dr. Sukomal Dey, Associate Professor, Department of Electrical Engineering, IIT Palakkad.
